The following are required for getting Married at Gesù:
Certificates & proof of sacraments:
We need the bride's and groom’s recently issued Baptismal Certificate, and proof of their First Communion and Confirmation.
Letter of Permission:
If you are not a parishioner of Gesù, then we need a letter of permission from the bride’s home parish. This letter gives the bride permission to marry at Gesù Catholic Church.
Parish Marriage Fee:
The preparation and ceremony fee is $2,000, not including the music, photographers or extra flowers. The down payment is $1,000 to be paid at the first meeting, the rest is to be paid two weeks before the wedding date.
Marriage Course:
The Archdiocese of Miami requires that the couple getting married prepare through a marriage formation program. Options include:
Fully Engaged Inventory & Discussion,
Marriage Preparation Group Program (either Transformed in Love or Camino),
All couples are also to receive some training in Natural Family Planning.
Marriage Preparation Online is only for those who serve in the Military Forces of this Country and do not come to the U.S. often.
Civil Marriage License:
Ten days before the wedding, the couple must bring to the parish rectory their civil marriage license from the State of Florida.
Meetings:
In the first meeting with the priest, a date is chosen and a donation is given to confirm the date of the wedding and rehearsal.
The priest will meet with the couple several times during the months prior to the wedding. The priest will provide the couple with the booklet Together for Life to prepare the Marriage Ceremony.
