The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is the process through
which unbaptized adults (persons out of High School) are initiated into the
Catholic Church. The OCIA Program prepares adults for the sacraments of
Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Communion. Baptized but uncatechized
adults share a similar journey as they prepare for full initiation or to be
received into full communion.
Classes meet on Monday evenings from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in the
meeting room of the Alejandro Palazio Family Center building (behind the
Rectory, and accessible from the parking lot (entrance at 120 NE 2nd
Street). This bilingual program begins in September and continues through
the Second Week of Easter.
Adults who wish to prepare for the Sacraments of Initiation
(Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Communion) are invited to participate
in this OCIA program. Sacraments of Initiation will be celebrated in
the Easter Vigil liturgy.
Adults who wish to grow in knowledge of their faith and to deepen
their appreciation for Jesus, his teaching, and his Church are also
most welcomed to participate.
In the year 2025-2026 program, Fr. Javier López SJ, Fr. Orlando
Portalatin SJ and Mr. Joseph Griesemer will guide the participants.
